A new quilt project begun. This one will be all hand pieced. I’ve never made a ten point star before. Here’s my first one. Only had to rip it apart once.

Made this quilt back in 1997, but children, dogs, and frequent use wore it out. Thinking about making it again. I love working with batiks, and I always loved the Monet vibe. Had a tough Y piecing assembly, though.

I've always been fond of this picture because of the little fellow facing a different direction than the rest of the crowd.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

In the distance, you can see Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull. The ice creates the icebergs you see here, which then float down towards the sea and create the "diamonds" on Diamond Beach about a mile away. 🌿

I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled across this swan family on my favorite local trail.

Then, when the parents came together to make a heart-like shape with their necks, I was beside myself with joy.

We followed the Cabot Trail searching for moose. I've always wanted to see a moose and somehow I never find one! Of course we didn't find any moose, but we did see beautiful views like this one. I loved the reddish tones of the cliffs.

Burges Pond
