I still think about how NPR ran one deep dive into it in a “special report” format where a reporter interviewed academics who specialize in extremist online spaces, but the regular reporting side never picked it up and it was just forgotten & never spoken of again

To their credit, NPR ran an episode of On Point today that straightforwardly describes the so-called New Right as overeducated racist, eugenicist, antidemocratic, misogynists, and identifies Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, Tucker Carlson, & JD Vance among them
