Was this in Toon Boom or Flash? I agree sometimes I would rather just draw something new than pose the rig, although sometimes the inverse is true too for me! It really depends on the type of pose/expression

Have you ever worked with 2D rigs before, or just hand-drawn animation? If so, what are your thoughts?

That's a healthy way of looking at it. It's trying to keep me safe, so I can't be too mad, but I don't want it to overstay its welcome
