I share your pain and I know ToD goes back to him which is why I think I have to do the tandem. Maybe that was what was stalling me on EoS. Manon is one of my favorite characters.

Empire of Storms is up next for me and I struggled with the first few chapters. I’ve decided to do the tandem read with ToD but still haven’t built up to it. It seems a lot of people struggle with one or both.

Rereading Wuthering Heights this year and still staggered by the content and emotion plus the grittiness. I love the other Bronte sister’s works but Emily feels like she writes from my heart.
