We came across an extreme version of the paperchase in The Railway Children on the Long Mynd today … pretty sure none of these runners were expecting this amount of water 💦 💧 😳 #Shropshire

Shropshire Hills Sunday … back up on a very wet and soggy Long Mynd at last. We were hoping for more blue skies but the autumn colours were still stunning. #Shropshire

#Birdoftheday is #Shadesofgrey … I came face to face with these beautiful tawny owlets on my very first day at Cuan and they’re still my favourite baby bird 🦉

This promises to be a fantastic evening! A chance to listen to Megan’s incredible stories about her upbringing and to find out all about why and how Cuan came to be - Megan is inspirational and will help to banish those January blues with her tales 😊 #Shropshire

A perfect autumnal Peak District plod today from the lovely old town of Marple, finishing with possibly the best leek, cheese and potato pie ever created at Tawny Stores.

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekQforQuiet Huge skies and and an empty beach in North Norfolk … my beach bolthole of choice!

This was a first for me! I came across this adult wood pigeon feeding its squab by regurgitating its crop milk in Shrewsbury’s Quarry this afternoon. I knew that’s what they did but had never seen it happening - amazing! 🐦 #wildlife #Britishwildlife #birds #Shropshire

A Cardinal butterfly soaking up the October warmth and sunshine in Sóller, Majorca.

We’ve swapped the Shropshire Hils for Majorcan mountains this week … a lovely hilly hike on the Cam des Rest from Sóller today.

That was a corker! 🐚 Jigsaws really are my go to mindfulness activity. My favourite way to really switch off.

That’s an incredible array from one spot. This was our Merlin highlight from a couple of weeks ago up in the Shropshire Hills - two goshawks circling above where we parked.Unsurprisingly, not another bird either heard or in sight!

I finally extracted the now empty wasps’ nest from our laurel bush this afternoon and couldn’t resist cutting it open to look at the work of art inside. It’s killing me that my children are too old to take it into school for show and tell 😂 🐝

Finally managed to get back up on the Shropshire Hills this morning, parking at Priors Holt and climbing up onto a section of the Long Mynd where we didn’t encounter another soul - apart from a few sheep and two circling goshawks 💚

A month behind with the statistics but this is what July looked like at Cuan this year. Tiny animals and birds that need regular feeding from dawn til dusk, a large number of animals and birds needing care, medication and monitoring and a phone that just doesn’t stop ringing! 🤯 #Shropshire

Not according to this. If it’s true then it’s an awful decision and will add to the general feeling of malaise around the place at the moment. I understand the sentiment but ditch Hi Ho??

At a loose end today? Come along to our Classic Car and Craft Fair at Cuan Wildlife Rescue in Much Wenlock from 11.00am … loads of classic cars on display, craft stalls galore, refreshments, live entertainment, tombolas and bouncy castles for the children. And all for just £2.50! #Shropshire

Lucky escape for me this afternoon I think 😬 Having a bit of a garden tidy up and brushed past this bush. Heard a bit of a commotion and felt a few things hit me … this is what I found 😱 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Remarkably NO STINGS 😥

We’re ready for you … it’s tomorrow! Come and have a look around our hospital, watch the hoglets being hand fed, see the famous Newport cygnets and learn what goes on behind the scenes in a busy wildlife rescue. A great day out with a dog show, refreshments and stalls too #Shropshire

Please share far and wide! Cuan Wildlife Rescue’s annual Open Day this year is on Saturday July 26th, from 10am to 5pm. The only day of the year when we allow the public behind the scenes in the hospital to see our work with British Wildlife. A great day out! #Shropshire #Britishwilflife 🦡 🦊 🦆 🦢 🦔

Look at him 🥰 When we’re in the Scilly Isles we like to support the small businesses as much as possible and this time I’ve bought this gorgeous little fellow from Libby at Scilly Ceramics. Libby is SO talented!
