He has no idea how offensive this is to Catholics. The Pope being chosen isn't a fucking popularity contest, it's a serious, reverent religious ceremony that carries huge weight for members of the faith. His "suggestion" is blasphemous and he needs to shut the fuck up for once in his life and SIT.
