Back in 1978 when I was 13, it was 8pm. By 16 up to leaving school, 9pm. After that 10pm.

Mum was very strict. I wasn't allowed to read, it was straight to bed!

Years later she told me it was because she was tired out herself and wanted some 'me time' for herself.

Snap. I gave up my job & did 7 years. My mum always said 'you shouldn't be doing this for me' I told her she'd brought me up & it was a privilege. I honestly meant it.

It also showed me just who my 'friends' were & after her death, I also cut 98% of my so called 'caring' family out of my life!

Every time I look, I see my mum!

For years my sister, nephew and myself never bothered with each other but for some reason, we did last year.

Unusually for me (I'm more of a 'it's in December DAMMIT' kind of person), I've bought all my presents!

I said the same to my sister about 6 weeks ago. 'The shelves are practically empty' and we both thought 'oh no, it's going bust'. It's is/was a cracking shop - better than the extortionate Superdrug.
