There's a fine line between sympathy and understanding. We can learn the context of their circumstances, sure, but if you feelin more sorry for the abuser than the abused you got some crooked priorities in my book.

See the thing is, many ppl have principles that cb has spent an entire career violating. Even framing the question as "get back right" is a bit off, someone that genuinely has had a change of heart would engage in "redemption activities" intrinsically and accept and validate people doubting them.
