I agree they derailed the original topic. I don’t agree it’s appropriate for white people to continually pull Black people as a whole into a discussion as an “if” item. It gives off “even Black people get more respect than this”. OP erased the existence of Black trans folks long before the reply.

Honestly think so many of these social media platforms are trying to keep everyone together so they can sustain the numbers they get when people react to ragebait. It’s truly heinous how the coding on apps like Twitter and Threads is all about instigating conflict.

Like I get the point y’all are trying to make but it is such an exhausting, reductive, and quite frankly very lazy thing to use Black folks as a prop for an argument that can certainly stand all on its own.

They were aggressive but that is kind of the point. Black Trans people exist. And yes, it is very exhausting when white people, straight, queer, trans, whomever, continue to use “if they said this about Black people” as if Black people aren’t and haven’t always been targets of the same rhetoric.

Because the military works to protect the constitution, not dictators. They probably don’t want it working against them. 😂 Which is likely, considering the decades they’ve spent recruiting Black people and POC in underserved neighborhoods.

It’s nice because each sub is its own little ecosystem of thought and the downvotes and moderating keep the shitty comments in check.

I’ve had threads since it started but just scrolling through the responses around the LA fires was aggravating. I’m mostly on Reddit but try to keep my feeds to Court Reporting stuff.
