Furthermore, his view is actually harmful to anti-racists. He's saying that race realist premises *might* be true, but it would be impolite to look closely.

You should see how this justifies the race realist position that liberals don't want to know the "truth," which Yglesias clearly believes.

It's not racist in an outward way, but in an oblivious way. He gave away that he believes that things like disparities in test scores or advanced math enrollment could be explained by genetic intelligence rather than, say, socioeconomic status. He just thinks it's impolite to say so.
