That's weird thing to say. A solid chunk of one of those guys' points is that he wasn't giving dating advice in the first place, since that's not the problem here.

I think its a little absurd to call "ragging on a top game studio" a notable expenditure of time and effort. We're typing on social media. It takes a few minutes.
Sure, some people are gonna make this their main issue for a bit because it hits them just wrong. So what? That's what they want to do.

But instead, its a gotcha aimed at one-upping someone he claims to care about in an argument while explicitly doing something he knows she'd dislike, completely ruining any benefits while also demonstrating that an emotionless computer is a better partner than he is.

There's a seed of a good idea here. "I'm too hostile, and having someone to bounce my thoughts off of and help me express myself more calmly and accurately is improving my relationship."
Talking, genuinely, through these things with someone he trusts would be a good move.

Some of my fondest memories of the game are about aiming ridiculously far ahead of moving targets because of latency issues, the horribly imbalanced weapon set including God's Pistol, and the wildly one-sided games and vitriolic rage.
It's all bad, in a very specific way for that time in my life.
