Plus? The dude is cool as shit, full stop. He can control his Zord with a FLUTE. When he was a villain, they gave him DUTCH ANGLES, and when he is a Ranger? He seems to have an already steep understanding of what his capabilities are, even more than the other Rangers.

I maintain that the series level of quality had a DRASTIC uptick once Tommy became more of a series regular, even in the first season. Tommy seems like he's the only one who's a well-rounded character who has actual emotions and convictions that aren't completely melodramatized.

When he was first debuted, he was SASSY, a villain who served cunt harder than any of the others, Rita and Goldar included. Then, once he JOINED the other rangers, he maintained his demeanor as a rougher kid. His mannerisms had SPUNK. The other rangers were preppy archetypes who did martial arts.
