Not sure if it's WW1 or WW2 , but one of my first and favorite historical romances is The Bargain by Mary Jo Putney. I will not read any books that have a fantastical or mythological piece. My grip on reality is already tenuous at best, and the fiction of these novels is enough to keep me intrigued.

Nothing beats a roomette. Feels like the most luxurious travel experience but is *almost* affordable (when compared to flying)
