Here because Twitter is all bots. I like science, economics, video games, animation, fantasy literature and adventurous sports. I also procrastinate engaging in all of it.
I have never seen fireflies, they're not really present in the UK, and I was always jealous hearing Americans talk about them ( or Owl City singing about them lol ). However I did discover the other day we apparently have a species of glow worms and now it is my mission to see some at night.

But I don't get to adopt that perspective, I have to endure endless back and forth about Dessandres. I'd rather hear more about Lune's family tbqh, or explore Sciel and Lune's interactions with the Axons.

All the while because of the grief of the Dessandres, who I cannot emphasise enough, I simply do not give a single solitary shit about. As the player, I'm playing from the perspective of the Expedition and the Lumiere world, to whom the Dessandres are a bunch of malevolent gods.

This isn't even considered in the final choices though. It all revolves around the Dessandres. Luna and Sciel have no voice in the whole thing. And to save everyone in this world we have to go along with enslaving Painted Verso and getting a creepy gothic scene and being made to feel like villains?

I'm also not sure why Alicia/Maelle living out her life in the painting is such a big deal. Okay, over time she gets sick and her body dies, but...from her perspective she lives a full life in a healthier body? So like what's the big deal here? Renoir will be sad? Who gives a shit.

It completely undermines the entire choice. It's not meaningful at all - you are committing a huge world-ending genocide against what are sapient, independent, feeling beings as far as the story has presented, and whom we have grown attached to. Why should I care about Real Renoir?

So essentially, I think the flip to focus entirely on the Dessandres just doesn't work at all. The lives and feelings and civilisations in the painting just don't get considered, it becomes all about one family coping with grief etc.

What does losing its terminal branch which released a lateral branch mean I don't speak nerd 🤓 ( joking but I actually am confused/curious about this )

Sometimes I think it can be less about the action itself and more about the justifications they give? I think it is more believable and immersive when they have some kind of logic/belief however twisted or at least make some attempts to rationalise it with themselves.

Yeah maybe you won't feel like a cool counterculture revolutionary and you'll be a bit of a nerd and it can be boring but someone fought for and built up your current political powers as a citizen bit by bit, use them! They work!

In a lot of circles the zeitgeist seems to be the boring political gruntwork like joining parties, writing to your MPs, attending conferences etc, are cringe, aren't getting to the "systemic roots" or whatever but I feel its efficacy gets demonstrated over and over again.

My main confusion is who would ever want to buy that it's so ugly it looks like a cult uniform
