In my tradition a pure white lamp represents the sacramental presence of our Lord. (I honestly believe that God doesn't care much about such stuff. )

When I get up at 6:30 am I'll say Prayer Book Morning Prayer with a cup of coffee, then attend the streaming service at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. (They are how my soul survived the isolation of the pandemic.)
Then I'll shower and attend my beloved St. Gregory's Church in person.

I was prompted to look at the Bible my paternal grandmother gave me at confirmation, still in the original green cardboard box from the Cambridge University Press. I keep all relevant cards in that box with the leather bound King James Bible.

I was baptized at age 10 in Houston. I was confirmed on a Saturday a few years later at Luke’s in San Antonio, and I received the Holy Communion for the first time with my confirmation class the next morning at the 8 o'clock service.
