Graham Platner, a candidate for Senate in Maine, had an interview with Pod Save America where they show a video of him shirtless with a totenkopf tattoo on his chest. He says he was drunk when he got it, chose it from flash on the wall, and didn’t know it’s a Nazi tattoo.

Because this is actually very famously a side by side comparison of Obama’s inauguration versus Trump’s

I wonder if part of the reason face value has remained low is that the fees kept going up & acts/venues are worried they’ll have trouble selling tix if they ALSO increase the ticket price itself. For many people it’s not feasible to buy at the box office so they have no choice but to eat the fees.

I went to Catholic school for K-8 in the ‘80s & ‘90s in both NY and VA, and we said it every day as part of our morning routine that included prayers. Once I moved to public school in 9th grade (in VA) I don’t remember doing it at all.

I - a middle-aged woman - frequently walk the streets of DC. Often alone, often late at night. Every city and town has violent crime, but the areas of DC people like him would even deign to go are very safe. Nobody is waiting outside Longworth HOB to mug him. He’s a coward and a liar.

I assume they did this so that none of us ever have to read a headline like this again.

What’s the source? There was no “no kings” protest in DC yesterday. The same video is online elsewhere saying it’s LA. I don’t think it’s LA or DC. I think it’s fake.

This picture is not Kentucky. It is from a different protest in 2018 - March for Our Lives - in Washington DC.

This is the March for Our Lives in Washington DC in March 2018. You can see the FTC building and the Old Post Office clock tower in the background.

This is from his first inaugural parade in January 2017. It was as poorly attended as today’s parade, so it’s easy to confuse the two. The people in this pic are wearing winter hats and coats, which is ill-advised in DC in June if you want to avoid heat stroke.

I saw Red Dawn as a child and had nightmares about it well into my 20s.

You’re about to get credit for inventing a new word!

258 million lives? In the last 100 days? How is that even possible? Was the entire population of the US in danger of dropping dead if a few kilos of illicit fentanyl crossed the border?

Should’ve put a “(Derogatory)” at the end of that headline.
April 30, 2025 at 11:06 AM
I’m not sure you even need to be accused of a crime, unfortunately.

Ohhhh! So the reason he has the Declaration of Independence hanging in the Oval Office is to use the list of grievances as a sort of to-do list.

Nothing reveals someone as uncool faster than hearing them insist on their own coolness. I would know, being an extremely cool person myself.

I’d disagree that they’re leading the culture moment. They may be in charge of the government, but no one is looking to them for music, fashion, art, humor, literature, any kind of intellectual or creative pursuit. They want to force their ideas on us, but that is not leading the culture moment.

An undeniably cool thing to be, obviously.

The closing line of that story was my favorite. Utter delusion.

The SAVE act is a solution in search of a problem. There is no evidence that voter fraud is an actual issue. You voted to disenfranchise American citizens, plain and simple. Total waste of time and resources at a perilous time for this country.
