Have y’all heard about the confederate flag now on government websites? I’m typically not a conspiracy theorist but I saw a pic of old SC proposed confederate flags on wiki and it looks pretty similar to it. 9 stars. No one is really saying anything so I assume it’s not new?

This is so beautiful to me. It’s a feature, not a bug. How incredible is that that at the languages inception it protected itself and the people who spoke it.
Hello resident linguist here and PhD in English. This is true. AAVE as a language has rules that negate the way we are taught to speak and it is culturally specific. You cannot learn AAVE if you did not grow up speaking it. You will not understand the linguistic nuances.
