One angle that isn’t talked about much is how decision fatigue isn’t only about depletion. It’s also about inequality. People with fewer resources or support systems often face far more decisions in a day.

Doctors don’t blink when hearing adult children speak for their aging parents. But when Deaf adult children ask for an interpreter, access is denied, with the dismissive response, “You are not the patient.” Caregiving is caregiving; it should not be treated as less valid just because we need ASL.

Brighter Strides ABA (2023) and Advanced Autism (2023) found increased vulnerable narcissistic traits in adults with ASD without intellectual disabilities. This raises questions about autism, narcissism, and their role in internalizing symptoms. More research is needed to understand these.
