The first thing to hit him was the scent of cologne, then old books, then the leather of the seat where the devil himself stared from. He knew what he was doing, and god would he let the world burn for this moment. Let it all burn because in a school where he was deprived of everything that life was about, a place where you couldn't even breathe out a curse word, the older man challenged him.
Ink decorating his skin and nails, earrings, and a tongue to dispute everything we’ve been taught. Megumi swore he could feel the man gravitate to him with every passing day, classes where they argued back and forth on the philosophy of life. The small smirk on the older man whenever he asked “If we understand things differently, who’s right?”
How in the world did this man get the job? Did he even believe in God? The nuns passed by his classroom and fear clouded their eyes. But not him, god– not him. All he could think about was wrapping his lips around his–
“Did you fail on purpose?”
“...yes.”
“Why?”
“Because…I have free will.”
“...and what will you do with that free will?”
Megumi paused, stared. He could hear his heartbeat drum in his ears and the way every chain in his life slowly unshackled. A thud on the floor, and he was on his knees between the older man's legs.
