Of course I agree with this. What I’m seeing is not disagreement — it’s disavowal from a place of woundedness. It’s like a fear of abandonment becoming sel-fulfilling.

All of the criticisms amount to “Zionism bad,” “apartheid bad.” Well, yeah. But how do we *actually* end it? Certainly not by losing a vote 7-421 instead of 6-422.

I do not agree with any of that and nobody has made a careful assessment of what she’s arguing, the strategy of a symbolic vote, or needlessly placing yourself in the crosshairs of Zionist smears in her very hostile district.

That’s a fair response and I appreciate it. I wouldn’t say they’re not made for public debate, though. I see this stuff trumpeted from socialist media outlets and organizations all the time.

I think typically when someone compares something to a “PR strategy” it usually means it’s hollow or performative. Pardon my assumption if that’s not what you meant, but I know that Burgis has a deeply held and well sussed-out position re: his views. He means it and he’s written exhaustively.
