He used to be a really edgy guy who used lots of slurs and stuff in a "they're just words" defense sort of way. After an encounter with a trans fan who expected him to be super transphobic to them, he completely flipped and made a big apology for his previous content. He's pretty woke these days.

Then hopefully the next big step is understanding that suicidal ideation isn't a requirement for "proper Catholic" gender transition, but that will take more time. The future is definitely slightly brighter though.

The "extremely specific" situation is suicidal ideation due to dysphoria, so if the next step is understanding that it's extremely common in those with dysphoria, I think this is a huge step forward in acceptance of trans people by religious groups.
