I'll admit I crossed the line from journalist to mom as I spoke directly to the soldiers facing off protestors at yesterday's farm raids in Carpinteria and Camarillo, Calif. I spoke to them just after they tackled a protestor and dragged him off.

Raid on Glasshouse Farms

Natalie Eubanks of Glasshouse nurseries, the cannabis grower targeted for large-scale ICE farm raids in Carpinteria and Oxnard, describes what happened when federal agents arrived in Oxnard around 11 am.

Tear gas just deployed against protestors/observers of the ICE farm raids in Oxnard. Rosalie was caught up in the has and needed immediate attention. She lives nearby, saw the raids unfolding on TV. "I drove here to see if I could help." She is sad at what was unfolding. "This used to be America."

A large crowd has gathered on a farm road on the Oxnard Plain to protest the arrests. Two dozen federal agents, most masked and with no ID, formed a double column to keep protestors away from the site of detainments. Agents deployed tear gas at times to keep the crowd back. #ICEFarmRaids

I'm on the ground in Oxnard, Calif. where ICE and other federal agents have detained dozens of workers at Glasshouse nuseries--growers of premium cannabis. A witness told me that the agents entered around 11 am today without a warrant and began detaining workers, throwing some to the ground.

We're at the #HandsOff protest in Thousand Oaks, California. Crowd estimate 2,000. Rocking energy and there's a broad mix of folks--vets, seniors, families and suburbanites hitting the streets en masse. Something's happening here and across the USA!
