This was my sports experience as a trans girl: I played basketball and football in high school. I played on boys’ teams as I was pre transition and was still desperately trying to prove myself as “man enough” for my male classmates. Obviously I was never going to accomplish that.

The Anderson actually went in to long term storage earlier this year in Toledo. The William Clay Ford (the other boat that went to search for the Fitz), is partially preserved as its pilot house is part of the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle in Detroit.
Ever think about how the Edmund Fitzgerald might still be in service if it hadn't sank? The Arthur M. Anderson is older and is still out there (& it was in that same storm).
