Sinners (2025) flesh & blood ecclesiastic film, beautiful & lowdown, the world will not leave those it marginalizes alone, seeking always something to extract. Hegemonic vampires, the singularity of cultural sound, & the quagmire of faith under empire. Dead Rating: Sinew Strings & Bloody Tears.

VHS Halloween (2025) These get worse every year. Awful. Weirdly obsessed with child harm but in a way I didn't quite understand and trying to force iconic visuals that mean shit and aren't anything. I couldn't have disliked this more. Please stop. Please. No more. Dead Rating: Apathetic Boo.

28 Years Later (2025) Garland should be imprisoned for writing/directing Men but released on parole for writing this. Stunning, bursting w/ human violence & love, very vulnerable & sincere, equally horrifyingly hilarious whenever it damn well pleased. Dead Rating: BIG DICK ZOMBIE

Bring Her Back (2025) I think the hype of it being SCARY was plainly misleading. Not scary, at all, or even tense just melancholic. It felt like standard fair for low quality A24 mass-market arthouse. Just another meditation on grief. Nothing special. Dead Rating: SAD TOMB

Dangerous Animals (2025) a vagrant loner fights a brutal, shark-obsessed killer. Really liked this one. Tense from start to finish, vicious & mean, with a geniune appreciation for nature & the connections between people. Oddly sweet. Jai Courtney is a force. Dead Rating: GROTESQUE CLAPPING

House of Eden (2025) content creators dip their toes into the found footage genre. First directorial film by Kris Collins, could be worse, but ultimately nothing special and painfully slow. It was trying something, I think, or thought it was? Dead Rating: SHRUGGING PUMPKIN

Look Outside has great, genuinely distressing vibes despite the grungy earthbound esque style. Also "No, I'm not a Human" just dropped and its immensely unsettling. Even if it didn't come out this year, i still tell everyone to play Anatomy
