Yeah low end the Redmi series is ok but Poco is better performance wise. But generally it isn't true lag most of the time (from the ones that I have interacted with) but mostly screen responsiveness, cheap ones register your finger less it feels like, they don't feel like my old laptop kind of slow

Weird, it is either Samsung exclusive or just bad luck because no phone I have used has largely lagged on low load, Xiaomi phones all of them

Did it have a curved screen? But generally yeah put protective glass, android phones are a dice roll on durability, and that is true even for the same phone, my phone that cracked happened when my fist landed on it but it had survived many falls from a meter high screen first.
