voice, that
tear welling up in the corner of your eye
fills the void they left when they ripped
It all from our grasp now what will
You fill it with, their way of life?
Will you mirror them, take
On the same tactics,
Their principles:
Oppression,
Isolation,
Theft?

future.

This pain, that
Undercurrent of terror
Soak through the decades,
Dissolve the ground beneath you.
It’s all you can do to keep your head above

Wastewater

Trauma follows in waves
Infiltrates the smallest crevices
Echoes in your head down your spine

Still it beckons
The pain of the world flashes
Injustice, extinction, suffering
Prod, poke, nudge
Me ever closer
So I cling to what might keep me

Afloat

Grasp at hope, embrace love,
Prevail and struggle
Shoulder to shoulder

Before sight of the black hole
Where time warps and forever stretches
Out before you, actually more
Grey than black
The great flattener
Not so much pain but the highs get shorn
Nothing met with elation
No enjoyment
Even in your most beloved pastime
Push back from the lip, dry,

Not just textiles
We weave stories,
Weave communities through connection
With each other, we
Weave dreams

Where did I go when in that flow

Into a distant past
A near future
A dream we weaved together

Before you know it
It’s done

It’s ancient,
Weaving.
We have done it since the paleolithic
Some 27,000 years past.
That’s just the evidence that by chance
Survived
It might be much older, one of our
First technologies.
We weave many things too,
you know

Kurosawas other noir. The bad sleep well, stray dog, drunken angel. Touch of evil orson welles (the stranger and some others as well). The long goodbye Robert Altman. I guess Mother by Bong joon ho, a scanner darkly by linklater, brick was kinda fun

Persistence,

Anticipation

Fan these cinders
Mayhap you had fire by your
Side
