Why are they continuing to use his hand for a line? As much as he tries to hide things, you'd think whoever is placing the IV lines would try an AC or something further up. Unless, the people who are doing these procedures are not particularly competent and/or, he's "fluffy" (fat) and a hard stick.

The exact reason the hot showers help isn't entirely known, but it does relieve the nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. We still rule out any underlying conditions, but knowing that the patient smokes all the time and that hot showers help kinda narrows things down.

This has been happening for years. We see these folks every day in the ER. "Hey, do you feel better when you get in a hot shower?" They pretty much always say yes. We try to encourage them to slow down their use. The sad part is that they're almost always pretty young.

What a dick! "Just move." Like that's easy for anyone, even people with adequate resources. I worked as a travel nurse for about 6 years and moved at least 3 times a year. It's a miserable experience. No amount of money made it easy or pleasant. And I never made a shit-ton of money.

Dude, I'm right there with you! I tried out for the Silver Bullets back in the day, played in men's baseball leagues until I was 44. Kinda' bummed all of this wasn't happening a few decades ago, but stoked for all the women who get to experience it now.

I only went to Safeway and it's a miracle I didn't have a meltdown, so many olds stopping in every aisle for what seemed like forever! (Technically I am one of the olds, but I ain't acting like it)

Charlotte, I heard this the other day and I was so stoked! Something to look forward to in a world that is just so shitty right now. We do still have dogs and cats and babies, a World Series Game 7, and really weird Christmas ornaments at World Market.

Oh do I agree with you on this. I hate fireworks! My last dog passed away about 4 years ago and though I miss her every day, I'm glad she doesn't have to tremble in fear for hours. Fireworks are beyond selfish and cruel. I hope your family, furry and otherwise, are doing better, friend.

What an obnoxious tool. We have these kinds of people in nursing as well. They've got a whole lot of alphabet soup after their name and most of it is bullshit. No people skills, lazy, mean, vindictive.
