Yeah Culhane was great with Woody. He made him even more crazy from Ben Hardaway doing the voice for him, introduced Wally Walrus, and got Hawkins and Heinemann to redesign the woodpecker.

Yeah I always go back to his shorts. Definitely the best of Woody imo.

That's such a weird one to me as Gracie Stafford is voicing Woody for the first time there and it didn't sound like him at all. She was pretty good as soon as she started voicing him in the theatrical shorts though.

The bulldog in the short steals the show here. His soft spoken voice while acting tough is so contradictive that you can't help but find him funny.

He's also in "A Fox in a Fix" and "Early to Bet" which he also makes these shorts sing.

Thanks. Now I'll never unsee that analogy.

They did use Elmer once more for Crow's Feat, just without a voice or any of his traits at all. Just a generic, bland character.

LT Wiki confirms it is Ken Harris after I dropped my post and yeah, I did suspect it was myself. Bugs moves his head forwards when he talks and the shape of his ears are identical to the model in the drum which are definitely traits of Harris's works.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that short's existence. I wouldn't say I love it, but it's a fun one to check out and would indeed be cool to see that he restored.

I enjoy this short from a historical perspective. This was back when they were playing around with Bugs and seeing what worked. Here, Bugs acts like his proto-self in Elmer's Candid Camera, which works in this short, but I'm glad they steered towards how Avery envisioned the rabbit a year prior.
