I learned from my undergrad students last spring that Black content creators for the Sims are one of the biggest reasons the game remains popular after so long. They had some research articles about it and everything. Nice if not entirely surprising to see EA recognize it like this.

I moved here from a smallish town in WI at the start of 2024 for a university job and oof, I feel this hard. Trying to love Atlanta but as a newcomer I’ve had a rough go. It’s drawbacks all the way down.

Maybe tangential but Superstore is also one of very few mainstream shows that actually made an effort to represent the pandemic as it was happening, with characters masking and so on. Perhaps related to your point after all... It’s a seriously good and impressive show.
