If nothing else, I'm interested to see what happens to an artist's Bandcamp when they die. Not sure about Tom's family but I imagine they'd have to go in and shut it down. I bought two of his last three albums just now while I could!

Yep. He was creative on a level I can't quite conceive. It's like trying to imagine infinity. He was also a mixture of classically trained pianist and crazed Zappa-like sound experimentalist. He'd never go too far out without jumping back with a string quartet or a harpsichord sonata.

Sadly, our relationship changed from mutual support to me supporting him. Gladly I never had that talk with him, and I think he was used to people coming in and out of his life. We had way more good times than bad. I remastered many of his early cassettes too.

If it's possible to be TOO creative, he was that. His work was massive and intricate. He released a 16-CD set decades ago, and later a thumb drive filled with music. He was putting out new albums weekly, then decided to go monthly but still had at least 80 in the dock. tomfurgas1.bandcamp.com

I'm getting flashbacks with how I championed singer Mary Lou Lord in her early days, and ultimately she signed and released an album on Sony. I'm no fool!

Everybody in my class had to make me a Get Well card. This is the only one I kept. We didn't become friends for at least another half year. John is the basis for the lead character in my book (and unfinished album) "Elmwood."

It's not like movie smalltalk with a teen would ever be high on my list, but half my sound editing would happen in my brain. I'd barely notice I did this until someone behind me started trying to divert my attention. Other editors could multitask but I couldn't even play music!

My albums were always meant to flow, BUT 1) Few streamers have gapless playback 2) Few listeners play the whole album at once. So I essentially threw in the towel and plan for the spaces, so it works both ways. But Bandcamp digital downloads (or CDs) will always be the correct version for my stuff
