Everyone knows there are three great dangers to paper-based treasure hoards; water, fire, and censorship. Of the three, the last is the most nefarious.

I'm doing a "writing thing" today. I even took the whole day off work. The. Whole. Day. I miss it. I want to write more and work less this year. Not sure this is the best strategy given the trauma that was 2020 but I've tried nothing and decided to give something a try.

The next big moment in books needs to be Octogenarian Murder Mysteries. Scooby Do meets Golden Girls.
An Elderly Lady is Up To No Good- Tursten
Killers of a Certain Age- Raybourn
Thursday Murder Club- Osman
It's the GenX back-up plan to retirement because we all know social security is dead already

Hi Team!
Powell's Friends & Family sale happens this weekend at our physical locations. 20% off in-stores. It will be a low-key gathering of humans seeking understanding and personal growth. This is the magic of bookstores. The magic is in you, in all of us.
Come for the books, stay for the humanity

I read, "Reading the Room A Bookseller's Tale" by Paul Yamazaki this morning. Paul Yamazaki is the primary buyer for City Lights in San Francisco and has been a bookseller for 50 years. Under 100 pages and there are at least 6 flags for sections I want to talk to others about.

I have, once again, given up on a Graphic Novel. It made me want to pick up the short story it was adapted from but by page 10 I was done with the format. :(
In other news...
I got an ARC on writing advice that I will now skim instead of doing any actual writing. Lol.

I'm on this thing now. I should be writing but I'm off in search of coffee instead. So, same as I ever am.
