Seems to me that "no comment" is the loudest comment of all in this story.

1968 was more than 50 years ago.

His (enormous) accomplishment was in 1968, before the 50-year period mentioned in the post.

/2 my guess, without specific knowledge, is that you can't have the same source streaming to two different devices at the same time. Maybe if you had two equal independent sources, you can bluetooth to the earpod from one and connect to the implant/aid from the other. ?

I've heard (in general terms) of streaming to a cochlear implant for one ear and a hearing aid for another, but only in the context of compatible systems (Phonak and Advanced Bionic). I've heard of arrangements where one aid gets a signal and sends the feed to the other ear. /1

Several years ago, before the AI hype, I got a marketing call that seemed "uncanny" although on paper it would have seemed like a conversation. I asked if the caller was a robot and the over-enunciated, totally unconvincing reply was "you are talking to a human being."

No TV Guide that size? No Puzzler version?

If raising tariffs supposedly didn't raise prices, how will lowering tariffs lower prices?

Notice the "negotiate" in quotes. The objective is mockery, not statehood.

I'd love to see Canada "negotiate" statehood on those terms. It's a bit more populous than California and has 10 provinces already (plus territories). 20 senators and 52 representatives seems fair.

This is not your father's WaPo. Or even your older sibling's.

"distantly tethered to" is a generous turn of phrase.
October 16, 2025 at 2:11 PM
This is a perverse parody of the traditional mockery of WaPo liberalism of "women and minorities hurt most."

I've never heard about this misbehavior before. Other tournaments involve golfers from around the world without incident, and TV coverage always mentions nationalities. Raucousness is one thing, but unsportsmanlike and offensive behavior is quite another. What's different here?

"Brokering" seems to suggest voluntary transactions, and I've seen innumerable complaints about training material taken without permission. How the data are used cannot have any effect on whether it is "brokering."

Eventually it won't be an essential skill to deceive the umpire (framing). Far better to fool the batter with good pitching. Also, I won't miss bellyaching about balls-and-strikes calls.

In fact, the president has a greatest responsibility to represent the full breadth of a diverse constituency.
