If you need $$ for preventative care or investigative stuff, do it.
If you're paying out-of-pocket & have a provider (a hospital your dr. has privileges at), then they should give you a $$ quote in writing.

Gerd. Have you taken Tagamet? It's over-the-counter. I take it & it helps a lot. But imo you should 1) still get a colonoscopy & 2) get your dr's advise on Tagamet in case there are contraindications with other Rx orvsupplements you might be taking. I'm not a dr. (or lawyer haha!)

Please, please, don't wait for $$. Get a colonoscopy now (*). Not trying to scare you, rather encouraging you take steps for peace of mind. I don't know what your insurance situation is. Are you paying totally out-of-pocket, or just the co-pay. Tell people the $$ range of you goal.
