Reading the Wash Post article about kids learning to play go-go in 2 schools had me curious about an older program called Teach the Beat that sent go-go musicians into schools. That entity I just learned via email is having trouble getting grants to fund their program.

I’m a fan of squeaky voiced Dominican rapper El Alfa but sadly missed his gig last night w/ DJ Pedro Night opening. Also missed Robyn Hitchcock @ Atlantis, Welvis @ Dietle’s & some other events. Was home writing an article. Need to plan better.

This rally at White House re Venezuela was Saturday. I read Adam Johnson say that Dems House leader Jeffries has yet to say a word about Venezuela. One could criticize Maduro AND oppose Trump admin actions but Jeffries prefers silence.

The Saints 73-78 are coming to Union Stage Sun Nov 16 & I previewed the show for Washington City Paper’s Fall Arts special. The group includes the guitarist and drummer from the original rockin band plus the Mudhoney singer, and a Birthday Party & Bad Seeds musician.
