This is a great, moving & chilling series and should be read by all Australians. Something that no-one in either my or my children’s generation were ever taught in school

I agree. I’m the US it is the system that is wrong. In Australia, we have an independent commission that both supervises the districting based only on population and demographic changes and also runs the election for the whole country. Rarely any complaints and then only minor.

I think the 75% figure specifically applies to Victoria in the 15 years post its colonization. Not diminish the horror of it, and there was no doubt as bad or worse in other areas, but just to get it right.

Right. SOS I see. The original appended article was from 2018 and she didn’t win that time and as explained earlier, I am far from convinced the will this time even though the libs have often won the 3rd spot.

I could have it wrong but clicking through from the article you posted revealed that she stood for them at the 2019 election (& lost) but not at the 2022 one, nor does it seem she is standing this time. I agree with your general point but she seems to have disappeared into the woodwork (I hope)
