Oh! That's what I couldn't find; thank you very much!

Thank you, Molly! So far my main question is monthly cost - I know it says "from $15/mo" but do you know how much it goes up when you're in the hundreds/thousands of subscribers?
October 30, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Oh, I just realized you were talking about your newsletter service re: 1000 subs. Yeah, that's a LOT to pay for a thousand-person mailing list!! What are you using that costs $40/mo?
October 30, 2025 at 4:25 PM
That's my big question - how much it costs monthly for X amount of subs. (Hey, 1,000 is nothing to sniff at!!!)
October 30, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Also thank you for sticking up for people who can't just LEAVE Substack. My newsletter service was $144/mo and I NEEDED to cut that expense. Folks yelling "quit Nazi Substack, there are HUNDREDS of other options!!" are completely naive to how expensive it is when you have a 10k+ sub list!
October 30, 2025 at 2:57 PM
Kate, thank you for writing all of this! I dropped my old newsletter service and was going to make the easy switch to a free Substack, but, y'know: Nazis. I'm EXHAUSTED by the idea of scrutinizing & learning yet another platform, but, here we are. Your synopsis & pros/cons of Ghost is v. helpful!

I spend an awful lot of time picking the perfect imperfect scrap paper for preliminary sketches. 👌🏻

Omg this is such a good warning 😮
October 8, 2025 at 11:36 PM
Well “occasionally something edible happens” is now the official title of my garden, so thank you! 😂
October 8, 2025 at 11:35 PM
4) but also I pay as little as possible for my garden! Build everything outta bamboo, get seedlings from friends who grew too many, seed swap, hit seed libraries, etc etc. The time sink is still outlandish vs food output, but it gets me outside and brings me enormous joy, so. :)

As a comic artist who had an art director for one cover*, hard agree. *it ruled.

October 5, 2025 at 2:18 PM
A relic!! Aw thanks hon, ECCC was one of my faves & I’m glad you made it out! (Thanks for re-reading AGAIN, that’s such a compliment!)
