Hey @thracks.bsky.social, does ARL-S ucode 0x114 bring all the system level fixes you suggested would arrive in late November/early December or not yet?

Surprised to see the fruition of the NVIDIA GSP thing and nouveau/nvk/nova in Linux. Fedora Workstation 41 boots up totally fine and even play Steam games with the stock config and an RTX 4000 SFF. ❤️

This does not seem unconnected to the sustained assault on higher ed, and the continuing pressure within higher ed to silo students into career tracks at the expense of liberal arts.
This is the whole ballgame for me: You cannot run a functioning democracy in a media environment where voters do not know basic facts about what candidates do and believe.

Voters are living in a post-internet world and legacy institutions have not kept up.

Why should the outbox pattern be implemented via log-based change data capture (CDC)? How to go about backfills? How to ensure idempotency for consumers? Discussing this, and more, in my latest blog post 👇!
📝 "Revisiting the Outbox Pattern"

New blog post is out, taking a fresh look at the outbox pattern: how to implement it correctly, is it still relevant, which alternatives exist?

It’s true that AI is undermining our peer review institutions, but it’s not like those institutions were functioning terribly well. It might not be bad if we were forced to discuss the actual impact of research.

A very short blog post reflecting on an experience I've had several times lately: where students show up with a fully-formed solution to a problem I thought was still too difficult for them. #machinelearning #AI
Will AI make us overconfident?
Like the internet or a magical sidekick, chatbots are reorganizing knowledge to be more interactive and more accessible.
