But I do believe the genius of this sequence, the root of the propelling energy, is Morpheus' willingness to let go of his own rules (sensing a Matrix theme here...). Thanks to the directors and @lillywachowski.bsky.social for just an amazing, amazing piece of cinema. Hope you enjoyed reading this.

And WOW we IMMEDIATELY see why Morpheus would have told Trinity that "it's suicide" to take the freeway. You have the twins, multiple agents, NO NEO -- and YES, the Wachowskis fucking benched Neo for this sequence, an amazing choice. Feels like every computer program in the Matrix is after our team.

Link tells Morpheus that there is a phone line exit off the freeway. Trinity looks at Morpheus, “you always told me to stay off the freeway."
“Yes, that's true," he says.
“You said it was suicide.”
And the stakes get raised AGAIN with:
“Then let us hope that I was wrong.” *loads extended mag*
“Yes, that's true," he says.

Well, I can give you unlimited reasons -- yes, Morpheus taking down an escalade with a katana is one below -- but I believe it comes to one small interaction between Morpheus and Trinity, before the duo makes it to the freeway. #TheMatrix
