The 1372 was one of the last steam engines on the Northern Pacific Railroad. Excursions from Seattle were held in 1956. Deeply popular after the excursion the Northern Pacific scrapped the 1372 with dieselization almost complete. This is a Lionel model of the 1372 in O Gauge.

6430 was the first SD45 that the Great Northern received. After the creation of the Burlington Northern railroad in 1970, the SD45 was eventually painted in cascade green. Today this locomotive is preserved by the Great Northern Railroad Historical Society.
