Thanks to @equalityalec.bsky.social for copies of "Copaganda," which shows the role media, security forces, universities and "liberal" politicians have in growing the security state and ensuring unequal justice. We'll send these to the prison book clubs we support and fulfill individual requests.

Big Thanks to everyone who donated books to DC Books to Prisons over the last week! The Banned Books Bookdrive was by far our most successful ever, and coupled with the matching cash donation for every book bought from our partner bookstores we’ll be able to keep up and perhaps expand our work.

Prisons and jails ban more books than all public schools and libraries combined. Throughout the country individual prisons and entire states are implementing more draconian and non-sensical prison book bans, with little public knowledge or outcry.

Prisons censor staggering numbers of books and other reading materials, not just for their content but for a stunning range of capricious reasons including the size of a book or the color of mailed wrapping paper.

DC BtP provides free informative, educational and enjoyable reading material to inmates in US prisons. Become a monthly donor and help send books to people in prison throughout the year. We are entirely volunteer run, so every dollar sends books to the incarcerated. Donate here - linktr.ee/dcbtp

So far this year we have mailed over 3,000 packages of books to prisoners across the country, and we'll send thousands more by the new year. Can you help us with the cost of mailing more books to prisoners? Postage is our largest expense, and every cent is needed! Donate at linktr.ee/dcbtp

Our #1 expense at DCBtP is postage, and when you send around 8,000 packages a year that can really add up! Every cent you can spare helps support out entirely volunteer-run organization and goes towards sending books to those with nowhere else to turn. Donate at linktr.ee/dcbtp
