💰 $1.2M in fines collected

Of the 797 cars:
💵257 released after $1.06M fines paid
♻️171 sold as scrap
🚗14 sold at auction

Great to see ABCA & MPD continue to padlock illegal weed stores!

We're up to 45 illegal weed shops that have been shut down. Another 44 have gotten cease & desist orders and 118 received warning letters.

Thanks to ABCA & MPD for continuing to crack down on illegal weed retail stores in DC.

Their joint enforcement efforts have closed down 28 illegal weed businesses and issued 43 cease & desist orders.

🗑️ Trash & Recycling Update! DPW will resume trash, recycling, and food waste collections on a one-day slide schedule beginning tomorrow morning.

Some delays may occur due to ice and snow in alleys, but crews are working hard to ensure collections are completed as quickly as possible.

Since April launch of scofflaws enforcement pilot, DPW has:
🚜 Towed 411 cars w/$2.9M in fines &
🥾 Booted 3,323 cars w/$8.7M in fines.

🧮 Of the 411 impounded:
• 132 released to owner after paying $329k in fines
• 70 sent to scrap
• 5 sent to auction
• 227 still on lot
