I am the actual bluesky stereotypical 38 year-old and my parents were in school during integration, this is not ancient history!
The middle school I went to was the old black school in town, it even had (has?) an old championship banner in the gym from the pre-1970 teams.

When I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska from Columbia my property taxes more than doubled. But it turns out you get to have nice schools, parks, bike trails, roads, even public neighborhood pools!!
The benefits are worth every penny!

I for sure think Don Bacon's seat in Omaha flips. If he was running again he'd probably just have the edge with incumbency. I don't think we'll be so lucky against Mike Flood in the 1st district (Lincoln), but I hope so!

10 years ago the state legislature in ruby-red Nebraska passed a law abolishing the death penalty and even overrode the Governor's veto!
Unfortunately then the Governor successfully funded and led a ballot initiative to reverse it. :/

My mom has a ton of first cousins because both her parents were from families of 10+ kids, we referred to them all as aunt/uncle.
Maybe that's just a southern thing like using mr/ms with grown-ups.

Between stuff like this and the outside challenge from Kalshi/Polymarket, feels like the downside risk to Draftkings and other traditional sports betting operations is enormous.

If we can't end sports betting outright, I'd rather it be this peer to peer format rather than betting against the house, casino-style.
