In 1970, there were 25 tax brackets which allowed the income tax to be truly progressive. The top marginal rate kicked in at $300,000, which, in inflated 2025 dollars is roughly $3,000,000. Every dollar earned over that amount was taxed 70%. Musk earns $1b, he keeps $300m. Enough, don't you think?

…painful. He wanted voters to blame Dems for their hunger. I suspect all these flight cancellations are the same - unnecessary and painful. What he cares about least is his constituents’ benefit.

...compared with a Springsteen concert and, I thought then, "this would be more interesting if someone else played the part. I know what Bruce does but a new talent..." And the more I think about it, there's a lot of great one person shows that don't need to be limited to it's original star....

...longer seems possible. But, maybe she could direct a new performer. It's a locked book. Someone else could play it, preserve it as a theater work that can be revived again and again. Separate the work from the identity. When I saw "Springsteen on Brodway," I liked it but it seemed dead...
