It absolutely happened. The NYT produced a detailed map of 87% of US precincts detailing the shift from 2020-2024.
New York Times map of voting results in 87% of US precincts for the 2020 and 2024 elections and the change in result by precinct between those elections. Whether because the large number who abstained were democrats or those who voted switched party, among those who voted the trend by precinct was red.

An alligator mostly submerged in Florida wetlands. The reflection of the bush below which it is floating surrounds it. The bush is full of wood storks building nests.

Sadly I don’t take advantage of it as much as I should and half the time I don’t even bring my camera. These were on an iPhone. Also, spotted this guy by the water. Had never seen one before.

Not nearly as good, but here’s what we got this a.m.
A purple gallinule. The bird is foraging in very shallow water. A green heron staring intently, scoping out the fish in shallow water. Lots of vegetation around it in a wetlands environment. Mr beautiful green beak. A snowy egret in the bushes. His beak is orange. His nostrils are green. Tha majestic Woodstock. Preening among the mangroves. Early morning light.
