Its never going to happen. Consoles are big purchases, most people will only get to buy one so they have to make a choice, and if people have to make a choice they will inevitably feel the need to justify it by saying their choice was the 'right one'

It's a simple device, but they've chosen a "side" and now must justify to themselves that they've made the right choice by exaggerating how confusing and fragile the "other side"'s product is. It's all ego protection.

As someone who worked for a cellphone company for many years: a frightening number of people are *always* paying for a new phone. They'll start a 2 year financing plan, pay it off and then trade it in for credit towards a new phone to pay off

No. One would be entirely off base if they thought that's what I meant. Diff forms of broadcasting have diff requirements. A blue yeti would be completely fine for broadcasting on twitch but wholly out of place in a national radio booth. "Broadcast quality" begs the question: broadcasting what?

Broadcasting what? To who? Through what medium? For what purpose? There's too many variables imo for a blanket term like "broadcast quality" to mean anything substantive.

the term is nonsense tbh but I feel like a lot of people as soon as they take the step from usb to anything plugged into an interface they're either unwilling or incapable of making it sound good. I don't think any 1 step or piece of gear is "so hard to setup" just most people don't care to learn.

To be fair to best buy, you can buy an sm7b from them and those are fantastic microphones *when used properly*. In my experience people often buy "broadcast quality" equipment but then have no idea how to set it up and use it the way it's intended to be used.

I listen to music and don't necessarily need to match the bpm, but if a song is too slow I'll subconsciously slow down and then that song has to go
