It took me several readings to start absorbing the barrage of new characters.

I first read the Eddings series a long time ago; I've since re-acquired 'The Belgariad' vols 1 & 2 and 'The Mallorean' vols 1 & 2.

I don't recall if there were others? I need to check that!
