Cleaning up my phone camera roll to make room for more. Found some #cloud #timelapse videos I don’t think I’ve shared from June 2024, plus the sounds of #bees #pollinating. #CapCut

Some spectacular #clouds over New Providence, NJ yesterday. I wish I had time to capture more of the ones in the beginning, but I’m in town for work and only had a few minutes to sit in wonder. #timelapse #CapCut

Cotton candy #sunset last night near Leavenworth, WA

Last night, only the tiniest bit of green auroral glow visible on the northern horizon here on the south end of the Salish Sea, WA. It was only visible to me with a 30-second exposure (iPhone 14 Pro).

More #lilies, plus #dogwood and #carnation flowers

I believe this is a Crowborough cultivar of arum lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica) with some beetle pollinators in my parents’ garden. They’ve been coming in more robust every year

Today the sky was an electric blue with the softest billows in the distance

The #bees are very much enjoying these #azaleas. I think that’s what they are. Some variety of #rhododendrons, at least!

Realizing now I didn’t include any flowers in the thread, despite the hashtag at the start

I don’t have a particular conclusion to make at the end of all this oversharing, but I’m looking forward to showing more of my art than I have been lately. I hope you’ll join me in cooling our heels in the waters, forests, & fields

I’ve been better about engaging with play. Recently I remembered how much I loved climbing trees as a kid, so I take advantage of the rare opportunity to do that (without hurting myself as I near my fourth decade)

Since I’m a hobbyist, I’m not pressuring myself to produce for public consumption, but that is my desire. I’ve always been a skilled technical writer, but it wasn’t until recently I discovered how to write fiction. It’s now my favorite method for expression

Photos can happen any time I have my fancy-pants camera-phone (which is always), but writing takes more time & effort. Though I haven’t released any besides some poetry since my short story Life’s Uncertain Voyage, I have been writing

Though I’m a hobbyist, I take my photography and writing seriously. It reveals pieces of me, which is where the vulnerable feelings come from. I want to share, but I often don’t have the time or energy to do the work required to find my audience

I have a few close friends plus my wife & extended family who are deeply special to me, yet many I once cared for have drifted far from where we once were. It’s a 2-way street, but for my part I’ve often done less than the bare minimum to maintain

Feeling like I’m closer to knowing myself and allowing myself to BE myself has been more difficult than I anticipated. I’m not the person I was decades ago, yet I am continuous with him

There’s something soft I’m subconsciously protecting—something I’ve only recently discovered the full spectrum of (or at least, more full than ever before)—and it’s me

The dialectic of wanting to be seen/known battles with fear of being misunderstood/ignored/rejected
