This is only a specific subset of young men who have been misinformed by a specific subset of grown men. The problem here is education, not Democrats failing to also mislead young men. Young men need to be shown that their communities care about them and taught how to care about other people.

I've been around cats who seemed to genuinely wish death upon the prey toes, and others who seemed quite capable of understanding that the toes and I were one and the same. It's possible the former were just being assholes though

It's a bit different in China because they are indigenous to their land and have only ever defended it from invasion. When the people being nationalists are descendants of (or actively themselves) settler colonialists, it definitely has a different vibe

I've had some of these experiences come full circle over a decade later. I do my best to not burn bridges now. You can't force a connection that just isn't ready to be formed yet. And if you get hung up on it you might miss another opportunity that's just moments away in another person

Yes but I've learned that sometimes these people do have the same experience but aren't at the same place on their healing journey and just aren't able to be vulnerable yet so I give them some grace. I might not be able to connect with them yet but that isn't always permanent.
