Trump (and MAGA knows the DOJ is Trump) hiding the Epstein files when the Democrats are voting to release them will go over well with the GOP's base.

So, with filibuster, you can pick A or B. Without filibuster, you don't get A or B.

And you think without is better?
November 13, 2025 at 7:26 PM
It would allow them to do that and they haven't got rid of it. Trump has been screaming at the Senate to get rid of it since his first term; they haven't.
November 13, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Without getting rid of the filibuster, the GOP can't:
1) Get rid of abortion nationally.
2) Get rid of Vote-by-Mail nationally.
3) Implement 'acceptable' voter ID at voting locations nationally.
4) Get rid of all ACA provisions.
And so on.

Seven legislative days before it can be raised on the floor, then the Speaker has to schedule it within two legislative days after that. This is quicker than it has to be.

I wonder if the Committee in charge of this will report something earlier which kills the discharge petition.

Go back and look at all the stuff about how Trump was going to put all the pedophiles associated with Epstein in jail. And now he's protecting them from public shame.
November 12, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Voting against this is "you're protecting pedophiles" not "you're against Trump." Major difference to the GOP.
November 12, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Your example has two prices. Only one can be 'what the pump says.'
November 12, 2025 at 9:51 PM
All the people who believe "Trump is going to bust the elites' pedophile ring and put them all in jail" would have a huge problem with him vetoing it, just like they'd have a huge problem with anyone in the GOP who voted against it.
November 12, 2025 at 9:38 PM
You don't pay what the pump says? Or do they change the price on the pump if you select cash instead of credit?
November 12, 2025 at 9:27 PM
Gasoline prices will be fun.

Federal tax will round up.
State tax will round up.
Local tax will round up.

It'll be interesting.
November 12, 2025 at 8:42 PM
So a $1.00 item with 7.5% sales tax totals $1.075 (normally rounded to $1.08) will now be $1.10?
November 12, 2025 at 7:33 PM
The White House Propaganda Corp doesn't have any interest in that.
November 12, 2025 at 7:15 PM
They're going to remember him for a thousand years, reich?
November 12, 2025 at 1:04 PM
The number of people to force it to a vote in the House is the same number of people required to pass the bill. If the Speaker knew he had someone who had changed their vote, she'd have been sworn in and the discharge petition would have failed already instead of keeping it in the news.

The President's pardon power only applies to Federal crimes. States will just ignore it.

Shaheen: "Yes, your health care premiums went up by over 200%. We worked together with the Republicans to do that. You're welcome."
November 10, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Meanwhile the GOP gets to avoid being held responsible for ruining the holidays.

It's stupid to cave now.
November 9, 2025 at 11:16 PM
As long as it's VFR and the airlines what to play dodge'em with other VFR aircraft, sure. I doubt airlines want to do that all along a route, with the risk and higher fuel costs.
November 9, 2025 at 11:14 PM
If they cared the bill would have already been passed. They don't want to vote for it (and against Trump). Once they vote for it, they get to tout that vote as "we did what we could."
November 9, 2025 at 11:11 PM
He doesn't care if you do or not. He doesn't have to face the voters again.
November 9, 2025 at 11:08 PM
The Epstein file bill would have to pass the Senate and be signed by Trump. There may be enough votes in the House and Senate to pass it, but Trump won't sign it and there won't be a veto override.
November 9, 2025 at 11:06 PM
I don't get why this would be done. It certainly doesn't help ATC because they'd be responsible for alerting/deviating for all the VFR flights at those levels instead of up in the high routes where it's all IFR on pre-determined routes.
