I finished it last night and saw them as co-protagonists, since they alternated chapters, and they helped each other on their respective journeys. It’s a wonderful book in so many ways.

As someone whose job it is to manage IFLE-funded NRC and FLAS grants, I can unfortunately attest this is all happening. It is still unclear if the grants will continue without any staff at Dept of Education to oversee them.

The Saint of Bright Doors by Vajra Chandrasekera @vajra.me was the best book I read all year, and won the Nebula too. Amazing speculative fiction about revolution, false prophets, and real ones
